American express credit card issue..?
I guess it has a lot to do with how long you have been a Cardmember with American Express. I have just opened an American Express Green card with "spending power" of $2,500 USD per month, and they waived the first year's annual fee. American Express closely monitors their charge card Cardmembers accounts. Usually, companies will incorporate their annual fees into your balance. Thus, if you were three months late with paying them, they could technically cancel your card completely. If you have a good history with them prior to this, ask a customer service rep to talk to their SUPERVISOR. The reps can't negotiate any account details with a member, so talk to a supervisor and tell them that you've paid the past due balance, and would very much like them to reactivate your card or else they may be loosing a customer.
