How many Gherkins are discarded from McDonald's burgers.>?

Why stop at Gherkins?the amount of food that goes wasted each day here in the USA and I would suspect Europe and other parts of the developedl world is beyond any measure that we can make....In every facet of food handling/consumption/processing their is waste upon waste....We all are part of it/we all participate in it /and we all see and read about the starving nations of the world as well. As a matter of fact we may be reading about it hwile at lunch as we throw away all that extra food we paid for but could not eat....It is a terrible thing that we do andunconscionalbe if we were really to sit down and take seriously the wasteful habits of the developed countires and put them at a level of thosue coutnries and those peopkes starivng form day to day and suffering heavily from malnutrition and all the side effects that that casuess.....Shame on all of us
