The goods and bads of agencies?

Hi there! I have lately been looking into talent agencies and my dad (I'm still a minor) said that if I told him what I knew about them and how they can decieve you and how they can be good then he will help me find one. I really want this but it is kind of hard to find things on the /bads/ of talent agencies. Help would me mucho appreciated thank you!
