My guitar sounds as if it is constanly overdriven or muffled. How can i fix it?

It is a Schecter Omen 6 FR with a set of standard Schecter Humbuckers. It sounds as if the treble switch is turned down although it is turned up. Kinda sounds like the Jimi Hendrix purple haze sound.
