Why does my boyfriend punch walls to the point of his knuckles bleeding? He also hits his head in an argument.?

Now and then me and my partner have an argument and it always results in him punching a wall, hitting his head against it or punching his own head with his thist. Its scary and i get a gut feeling that its wrong or that he has anger problems. He also has other faults like saying i cant talk to other men, flirt and he will think im a tart if i wear a skirt. He also doesnt like it if i wear make-up for college he thinks im impressing someone. He has called me a slag on two occasions and when he is drunk he can be abit heavy handed.
