PLEASE HELP...ttc with irregular periods?

My periods were extremely irregular when i was younger, but gradually became on a consistent 28-30 day cycle. But, ever since my husband and I started ttc in November, they've become irregular again. Since January my cycles have been 33 days, 36 days, 48 days and i'm currently on day 37. I desperately want a baby, and perhaps that's why my period is acting up-because of stress? My mother really wants me to see a doctor, and I know should, but i'm scared. I'm scared of hearing an answer I don't want to hear. I just started a dietary supplement a couple weeks ago called fertilaid. I've been getting some dull cramps here and there the past couple days, hopefully it's my period on it's way. Have any of you gotten pregnant with irregular periods? Please, encourage words only...as i can't take much more :(
